February 2010 – ViscoWrap-HT and ViscoPaste-HT now suitable for 100 ° C/212 ° F !
VISCOTAQ is a joined invention of Kleiss & co bv and Amcorr Products & Services. VISCOTAQ is a unique viscous elastic solid coating and has been developed upon request of several international oil and gas companies and in cooperation with leading polymer laboratories. Patents have been applied for worldwide. In our own VISCOTAQ laboratories continuous research is done for the quality control and development of VISCOTAQ products. Recently DSC tests were run at Charter Coating Service Laboratories in Calgary for the description and determination of an improved VISCOWRAP HT version. Final tests determined VISCOTAQ to have a melting point 152,9 °C/307.22 °F. The glass transition temperature was determined at -40 °C/-40 °F and the continuous operating temperature of the coating was determined at 100 °C/212 °F with short term exposure until 120 °C/248 °F. VISCOTAQ hence does not only show extreme low cathodic disbondment when tested to the ASTM G8 but also a stable behavior at elevated temperatures.

AUGUST 2009 – VISCOSLEEVE : viscous elastic heat shrink sleeve in single sheet form !
Heat shrink sleeves are used for the protection of girth welds in the pipeline industry. Conventional heat shrink sleeves use a hot melt adhesive or butyl rubber as a corrosion protective layer and a stabilized cross-linked polyethylene as a carrier. Until recently viscous elastic products were not available as a heat shrink sleeve.
VISCOTAQ is proud to present the first viscous elastic heat shrink sleeve as a single sheet product with two different layers : VISCOSLEEVE ! The corrosion protective inner layer consists of a viscous elastic material that will penetrate the pores of the substrate and that has a continuous flow and extreme low permeability to moisture and gas . The mechanical outer layer consists of a cross-linked stabilized polyethylene.
The advantages of the VISCOSLEEVE are numerous :

Two layer system however combined in one product, so a single sheet product ! No necessity to first wrap a corrosion protective inner layer and a mechanical layer as a second step.

No use of a primer due to the famous viscous-elastic properties of VISCOTAQ technology.

Pre-heating of the pipe is not necessary : removal of moisture and a hand warm surface is sufficient. No risk of reduced surfaces temperatures during application.

No risk for air inclusion due to the fact that the sleeve is wrapped hand tight around the pipe, leaving no space underneath.

Application of a moderate flame during heating is sufficient .

Material will show continuous flow into the pores after application.

Fast and easy application.
